<title><value>Continental GT V8, GTC V8 and Flying Spur V8 leave the UK, European and MEAI markets</value></title>

Bentley Motors has announced the discontinuation of its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine in the Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur models for markets in the UK, Europe, and Middle East. This move aligns with Bentley’s Beyond100 strategy to introduce hybrid powertrains across all model lines by 2024.nnThe retirement of this engine follows closely behind that of Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre W12. Over 53,000 handcrafted units featuring the V8 have been produced at Bentley’s Crewe factory since its introduction in 2012.nnOrders for these vehicles are now closed in the specified regions with production wrapping up by June; however, some stock may still be available through retailers and existing inventory channels.nnThe current-generation V8 will continue to be used within the Bentayga lineup. The shift towards hybrid variants began with successful launches like Bentayga and Flying Spur Hybrids which saw high demand.nnBentley’s L-Series V8 was first introduced back in 1959 with a power output of 180 bhp. Today’s version boasts three times more power despite having two-thirds less capacity – producing an impressive peak power of 550 PS (542 bhp) while maintaining lower emissions compared to previous models like the W12.nnFinal deliveries for these last V8-engined Continentals and Flying Spurs are expected soon as Bentley continues on its path toward electrification while honoring their legacy of combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology at their headquarters where approximately 4,000 people are employed.
